McDonagh got his start in theater as a playwright, which is quite rare these days. The Beauty Queen of Leenane is my fave, but all of them are quite good.

I think Kinnaman and his character are pretty great. The most unrealistic (even for this show) is that the GOP would run a candidate as appealing as he is. I like the never discussed fact that his wife is British, as well.

It's a comedy that seems to be reaching for peak realness, so it does bother me.

Shoshanna in Japan would be an amazing spin off. I guess the guy who plays her flirt interest is the Robert Pattinson of Japan — according to Lena.

He better hold onto it, because the whole vampire craze is ovah.

It's so often misused.

Any attempt at authenticity went out the window when they hopped a plane on a whim. Even given their LA careers and apparently expendable income, it is unrealistic that real people would make that choice, especially the sole breadwinner in a young family. Everything that happens in Detroit is histrionic and

Right. Didn't he go grey last season? I guess we're meant to assume that jes modified his appearance on purpose.

Soap was amazing, and one of the most original shows in TV history. Every single episode was written by the creator - Susan Harris.

Neither party has the distinction of being THE criminal party.

I so wish I could have seen the Sledge Hammer retrospective at SF Skectchfest this year. Money & time did not permit, however.

These are all very good points, but somehow I still find it eminently watchable.

Holy Crap, Cicely Tyson is 92 yrs old.

I prefer to think of him as THE sex offender/golfer in season 5 of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Children's Hospital changed the face of Adult Swim and the world of sketch/short form (?) comedy. Wow, I can't even figure out how to describe the bat shit craziness that is and was this show. It's just funny god dammit!

Interesting. This sounds much more plausible.

I think as long as Murphy continues to stay out of the writers' room, this will be his best series ever.

Agreed! Especially since she's married to Vance.

II expected this series to be the biggest trainwreck ever produced, but I am continually shocked by the nuance of the writing and (most of) the performances. Even the bombastic performance by Vance is modified by unspoken subtext that suggests the man underneath the 'character'. What a wonderful and well deserved

I don't like harassing the AV reviewers, because I don't necessarily think it's a good thing to criticize criticism. Having said that, a reviewer who compares this episode to a death on The Walking Dead might be missing the point of the Muppets entirely. Can anything so basically lacking in irony be considered
