I did see the Act of Killing and Persepolis. I completely agree.

RIP Dudley Moore.
I'm so sick of corporate Synergy. Also, Keaton in a King Kong movie could not possibly be better than There Will Be Blood.
Good to know. :)
I assumed that the broadness of the male characters was a result of unreliable narrators, which is why I thought it worked in this context. Because, balls.
I haven't seen any of these documentaries this year. But I have to say that 'The Missing Picture' was incredibly moving and informative - in a brutal way.
80% women? Wow. I have a sense that women played an integral role in early codebreaking, but that they're largely ignored.
I really like Wes Anderson, but I've yet to see a film of his that surpasses The Royal Tennnenbaums. I'm probably alone in that opinion though.
Maggie Gyllenhaal made a good statement about that during her Golden Globe speech.
'making moral and ethical compromises seem to me to be a huge part of married life' — yikes. Have you been married? Compromises, sure, but those type of compromises should not be a factor. Fighting over sex, money, religion, parenting, and dirty dishes - yes.
That's my guess. He'll probably end up getting a lifetime achievement award in his 80s like Altman did.
Duvall elevates every film he's ever been in — Days of Thunder, anyone?
Yeah, I was commenting on both movies. I can see now that my comment was confusing. I'm also surprised that Miller got a nom for Foxcatcher. Where is the love for P.T. dammit.
Right, I think most people (including myself) have a limited idea of what an editor does.
I wish the Academy would end it's love affair with Clint Eastwood. I haven't seen Foxcatcher, but every review I've read indicates that Steve Carrell is not one of the films highlights.
Human Rubik's cube - Nailed it, Joshua!!!
Too many cooks in this episode.
The actor is quite terrible. His line deliveries during the Mars Rover pitch were very awkward; as if English was his second language. Also Coach's muffins line was standout.
Jesse must have told Nick the 'backpacking through Europe' story.
It's based off his name.
