If you are good at tattoos in prison your work will speak for itself and can be used as a hussle. You can make a lot of money if you’re good and your time behind bars can be marginally more comfortable when you can buy more food.

My brother in law did time and he said more contraband like drugs and especially heroin comes in from the correctional officers and staff than what comes in through visitation. Also tattoos are the easiest things to get. If they are caught they only get a write up. It doesn’t phase them.
