My head cannon is now that the rift between William and Harry is because of this, and not specifically because of Meghan or any other scandal. I think it’s great they’re making a move to live the lives they want, but it feels like they’re trying to have their cake and eat it too.

Her plan isn’t to have a 10 hour school day. It’s to keep schools open for affordable after-school care so parents don’t have to pay exorbitant amounts of money or leave work early to get their kids off the bus. If families don’t need that service, they don’t have to participate.

This latest persona does seem more like her ‘actual’ self - which just pisses me off because it’s a total 180 from who she was in the mid-90s. 

I’ve always read her as inauthentic as well - much like Gwen Stefani.

I think she’s a perfect case for why actors, and particularly child actors need to have a life outside of their profession. Yeah, the release time killed it. I’m glad they had the confidence in it to release it in a crowded field, and wanted it to come out toward the end of the school year, but even moving it into July would’ve helped it’s chances a bit. 

This is a really great piece, thank you for sharing it. I also totally agree with you that removing the nonlinear story structure really does a disservice to the story. I worry how Stan’s death will be treated in the sequel - they didn’t even touch on the notion that the Losers will forget everything that happened…
