I quite enjoyed Chapter Two, even though I agree with the flaws pointed out here. The opening was hard to get through, even though I’ve known to expect it since reading the book 20 or so years ago.

Agreed. For one thing it would make the contrivance of forgetfulness more believable - the audience would see things unfolding as the adult characters rediscover the past. It just didn’t seem to work in the second chapter - it made the adult characters seem dumb or ignorant. 

Right? I couldn’t believe that in the entire A Quiet Place universe there wasn’t one redneck with a leaf-blower and a ‘hold-my-beer’ attitude.

I saw that show in Tampa! First time I’d seen NIN live and was hoping it would be a great lifetime memory. The show was amazing until they took a break and my now-ex chose to inform me that Robin Williams died. Wanker. 

The series blew my mind in all the right ways. I actually avoided it over the weekend even though the trailers had me super excited - I’ve got a lot going on personally and if the show wasn’t good, I would have been seriously let down. A friend talked me into it and I’m so glad he did.

See, I thought the same thing. They refer to him several times as The General and his design, behavior, and voice type matched the General of the movie, but the General of the movie is alive and the General of the series was murdered by Chamberlain.

I’m sure they will. The big one that comes to mind that Wendy would be brilliant for exploring would be Aileen Wuornos but I don’t think they caught her until the 90s. That’s a long time for Wendy to hang in the basement.

Was thinking the same thing! I love that series and will eventually start talking about it in any conversation that lasts longer than 5 minutes.

Same, to a point. I definitely feel terrible about big animals that are inclined to roam for hundreds of miles having to spend their lives in an enclosure.

Just the other day I was trying to give my 16-lb monster cat medication. After he kicked my ass and left me lying on the floor I thought ‘I wonder if this is what having a baby werewolf is like?’ 

I am stupidly excited for Jumanji 2.

I think what made the early 90s movies so good was a magical Great Conjunction of cast, Barry Sonnenfeld directing, Danny Elfman’s music, and amazing production value. The TV show is fun but I don’t remember it being particularly amazing.

I saw a trailer for it and thought ‘Oooo Lovecraftian!’ but I can’t remember why now. Tentacles?

Holy shit, are you me? Because I *also* am gutted by that scene. I’m 40 now, and my unicorn also never appeared to me. Jesus just thinking about it...

I’m amazed at that 170- a pound honey. I bet it’s so good it would make the stuff I get taste like butt.
