I think the sidelining of Carr is to show how institutions remained Boys Clubs despite attempts to change them. Everybody waves their little ‘we’re progressive!’ flag when a woman gets hired, but nothing internal changes, and all the resistance against her wears her down and pushes her out. Tench and Ford respect her…

You definitely should check it out! It’s a good savoring type show - I binged it in a weekend and then had to rewatch it, two episodes a night, just to enjoy all the performances and hear all the dialogue.

Here in Florida the only snakes I worry about are Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnakes, coral snakes*, water moccasins... probably some others I am forgetting.

Tench’s kid’s plot is interesting to me because it’s landing solidly in the gray area Wendy discusses with Gregg when he’s first coming on board.

I started rereading it (although I never finished the original read, so I guess ‘retrying to read it’) on NYE this year. I put it down somewhere in March and just keep forgetting to finish it.

That article was fascinating as a read on a man who, as a result of a profession in which he was hit in the head a lot and whose memory might not be so great, is trying to reconcile his proximity to a very dangerous situation.

I’m a feminist and I found that scene hard to watch. I don’t like sexual assault no matter who it’s happening to. I kept wondering if the lady would turn into Doppleganger.

Being unfamiliar with Xena and only sort of familiar with Hercules, I can still appreciate this list because I’ve seen every other Urban of these except the Almost Human one.
