Yeah maybe it’s just the angle but it looks really ill-fitting.

She is lovely, but I don’t love her dress. It looks like someone made a dress out of a paper doll skirt. I can’t unsee the fold down tabs.

Glob, she always looks flawless. <3

I just want to point out that you started off by saying the women who say SSM is a cult are“fucking crazy” and then proceeded to write a 10 thousand word single paragraph incoherent ramble.

as a former cult member, let me tell you, you’re def. in a cult.

And it looked like she married the guy so he could get citizenship in the country or something and he probably was paying her for it.

I fucking love that. Because there’s not enough “man’s perspective” in the world, right?

Protip: paragraph breaks will make it seem a bit less like you’re in a cult.

I’ve read your entire comment, and the only thing I got out of it is that Superstar Machine is even more sexist than the article depicted. Thanks for the insight!

Good. Asking questions is good.

How someone even hears the phrase “International Hot School” and doesn’t collapse on the floor laughing is beyond me. Dude can’t even name things right.

“He said men asked too many questions,” Poppy says. “And interrupted what he was trying to do.”

Ramsey is my favorite character, and I sure hope nothing ever bad happens to him.

They could have just used Nepal or Bhutan.

No, it’s not just that. China has a nasty history of wiping out minority groups that aren’t “model Chinese” citizens, and there’s a ton of deep-rooted racial tension involved in this. There’s a lot of low key ethnic cleansing that still goes on to this day. Check out jazz culture in Taiwan and the Taiwanese language

I’m so glad someone posted this. This is way more complex than just whitewashing a character. Going through my Masters program, I had a really good friend who was Mongolian and of Tibetan descent. I watched Chinese students, even people who were also my friends and normally wonderful human beings, act like racist

Yeah, that decision comes from the Party leadership and they would shut that shit down if it acknowledged Tibrts “history” as a PLACE that EXISTS

The same goes for the idea that Taiwan is independent. When I was in China studying I witnessed otherwise intelligent, perceptive, thoughtful people descend into utter nationalism at the mere idea that Taiwan might be a different country and that it might have the right of self-determination.

But come on: here’s a country of one billion people who you see as so powerful that you’ll change a character’s ethnicity to fit your perceptions of their taste, but who you also see as so incredibly stupid that merely “acknowledging that Tibet is a place” will render them so apoplectic with politicized rage that

He comes off like a real asshole in that interview. But then, anybody who uses the term “social justice warrior” as a way to excuse his company’s fuck up is most likely an asshole.
