Harry is a good entry point for a fan to insert him/herself into the books (so is Hermione, arguably, Ron maybe not so much) and he is preternaturally good at Quidditch, yes. But I did notice that his one big noticeable talent (Quidditch) was NOT one that would help him defeat the big bad. Which ruins it for me as far

Exactly...to have your one big readily apparent talent (Quidditch) NOT be the thing that will be most useful in taking down your biggest nemesis/obstacle I think is the whole point. It would have been to easy to make him an absolute wiz at magic (pardon the pun?)

Like real life! Except without the evil wizards and such.

...and academically so-so.

Really? He wasn’t that great academically - that is made very clear - was not immediately picked as the best wizard to compete for Hogwarts in the Triwizard tournament and all but says Cedric is the better choice, is consistently in danger later on of not getting to become an Auror because his performance isn’t good

If by “went to be one with the Living Force” you mean “went to be one with the Living Force by letting Darth Vader slice through him with a lightsaber”, and you don’t think getting cut in half with a lightsaber would kill even a Jedi, sure. I don’t see anything in the universe to show that you can even do that without

Well, she’s Force-sensitive so she probably would. Also there are so many hints that Rey is not exactly an unknown person to many in the film, possibly perhaps Leia as well.

No, because Attack of the Clones is clearly the worst of the franchise and it is basically impossible to make a more unwatchable movie.

I know right. People complain that he’s basically angry teenage Darth Emo, but that’s what I *like* about him. He’s not a cool, controlled supervillain whose only personality is being a villain. He plays the “I study the dark side with my online buddy* and work at Hot Topic part time and am generally just angry,

Which is why it’s so wonderful that Wil Wheaton is actually a pretty cool guy.

Your other points are true, but I counter them with “duh, it’s Star Wars. Why did that happen? Space magic, that’s why.”

Perhaps they think so, but looking at her in recent interviews and in the movie she looks the same. And she does look older. If they were going to do anything to her it would have been voice modification, which they didn’t.

I’ve only seen it once but I remember she and Finn could not understand Chewie? And it was pretty clear from her conversations with Han that she knew about the Falcon because she worked for the owner and knew of modifications done to it. She said before she piloted the Falcon that she WAS a pilot.

My suspicion is that

Scarier, but easier to defeat if you know how.

Well, at the very end she does say “The Force...yes” and goes into a pretty clear battle meditation. So she does use it - only at the end though.

Yes! He may be good at some Force uses, but I don’t see where everyone thinks he’s such a great lightsaber user, or such an experienced or well-trained one. He seems to be none of those things and doesn’t have the stability of mind to fight calmly. When you fight angrily in that sort of combat, you usually do worse.

An over-emotional villain who doesn’t seem to be especially strong in the force, and who is grievously injured (and would be mortally injured if he were anything other than a Force user). Against a woman who is very strong in the force, and whom we know CAN use a staff and hold her own in a fight, after he fought and

Listening to that, where that guy says Han would have known Luke had a daughter...I think Han did know, and if you look at Ford’s acting when he and Ridley meet, he has Han do a very understated double-take when she says her name.

Darth Vader is Leia’s father. Come on.

He pretty clearly allowed Vader to kill him.
