Honestly this could be written in like 5 lines.

That really depends on the dough. Linzer cookie dough is weirdly sweet, oily and a bit grainy but bakes into delicious jam-filled cookies. And cookies are only crumbly if you make crispy ones or cook them wrong - a good soft gingerbread or double chocolate cookie isn’t crumbly at all.

Sorry but that pie sounds delicious and should be featured in a “Restaurant customers who DEFINITELY should have eaten that” segment.

I had to do one for my Cambridge Delta Module 3...it was a quick affair with just one bullet point in the needs analysis results but apparently I **had** to have it. I’m still not sure why.

Auditory/visual/kinesthetic etc. - like “make sure to incorporate movement into this activity for the kinesthetic learners”. Total bunk. The design of an activity should be based around what’s best for that activity, and ANY kid (or adult really) would get bored with too many of the same kind of activities in a row,

The learning styles myth has been basically debunked. It seems to make sense on the surface, but at least among language teachers, we’ve moved on in the face of several studies showing no measurable existence of such styles. What does seem to exist are different “best practices” for different styles for different

If you make sure to always get the Korean meals, even the food on Korean is pretty darn edible.

Hell try not to fly them domestically. (I realize you can only fly American carriers domestically - for me this means when I’m in the USA I travel less).

This list is not full of Asian airlines just because of MERS. Asian transport infrastructure (in developed Asian countries anyway) is cleaner overall than in the West and has been for some time. In Taiwan (where EVA Air is based), they hire people to stand at the bottom of escalators with wet cloths (I think wet with

I just hate the way that not vaccinating is compared to “personal choice”. It would be, if you were doing it to yourself. But you’re not. You’re doing it to your kid. Your kid doesn’t get a say in your anti-science bullshit...but by definition you’re not acting out of personal choice if you are forcing it on another

Bless his heart.

The tangential thing in this that made my eyebrows shoot up is “beautiful woman from an elite family”. Why should either of those things matter at all regarding how much one’s heart should break for her? She could be poor and ugly and it still would be terrible to be married to a guy like that.

First, no. You can’t justify “you should have expected this” with “it’s OK to treat people in a country illegally this way” and “it’s OK not to pay not only a living wage but no wage at all because it’s ‘competitive’ (bullshit) in that area”.

Hell, even if you know the language (let’s say you are a strong user, articulate with a strong understanding of the underlying systems at work in English usage) that’s no guarantee you can teach it. Plenty of people are experts at math or chemistry or whatever - actual mathematicians and chemists - who can’t teach

Ooh me too except I was 19 and went to India, which made me REALLY an insufferable snob!

If you quit your job to travel for awhile you can defer them, because you’ll legitimately have no income.

Yeah...those people, whle I admire their gumption to go abroad and travel seriously, kind of give ESL as a profession a bad name. They usually have no training and think any native speaker can teach English, which is demonstrably not true. I’m not against the backpackers coming in and getting jobs in our profession -

I’m kind of horrified that having a doctor’s note that one cannot physically wear heels is the focus of this whole thing.

I *can* wear heels. I’m perfectly able to, no specific health problems (well, I have plantar fasciitis, but technically if the heels have good arch support I can still wear them) that prohibit me

And on an adjunct professor salary (I had read she was an adjunct), how does she afford it?

Can I just say I love the hair? And I’m as white as white can be (I could probably use correction fluid as a concealer) - is it even possible to, say, get the hair, but not dye it (well, I dye mine red, but I mean not like dye it to pretend to be another race) or pretend to be black or any other race, but just, like,
