No, "Taiwan" doesn't claim that at all. "The Republic of China" claims that, and only about half the country supports the party that wants to keep it that way indefinitely (the opposition, which was in power 2000-2008, hopes for an eventual change to "The Republic of Taiwan" and full, de jure, independence).

THANK YOU!

She's not Chinese-American. She's from Taiwan. Taiwan is not China.

As a Taipei expat I just want to say THANK YOU for understanding that Taiwan is not China. It is so rare that a media outfit gets that right.

Mario Badescu. Get their foaming facial cleanser, their oil-free moisturizer or moisturizer for oily skin, and their whitening mask (doesn't really whiten - it just evens out skin tone over time and mattes your face).

Some of us have all the problems.

'Cause that stuff's not totally horrifying in ways we haven't even imagined yet. Also, it screws some people up for life (I have a friend who can no longer wear contacts after a bout of Accutane).

I can see how that absolutely would happen with a child who has a mixed racial background trying to decide what race they most identify with, or if they identify with any one race at all.

I'm all for cultural appreciation.

Nobody eats anything at fancy fashion parties.

A few people have noted this below and I agree: that list is not as long as it looks. Humble, kind, compassionate, patient, loves animals, positive, sensitive, generous, calm, loving and fun (and possibly romantic, depending on how you define it) could all go under one heading: "truly nice guy (not Nice Guy)".

For some people, "not liking cats" absolutely would be a dealbreaker.

Maybe for you. I like some veggies - eggplant, sweet potato, bell pepper in any color but green, tomato, carrot, mushrooms, taro, Asian sweet potato leaves, cauliflower...all tasty.

To this day my mother insists she never used drugs.

CERTAINLY, not "cat inlay". JESUS.

Wed, not we'd

Also Chinese New Year was Feb 9-17 this year, and it's good luck to we'd, open a new store etc. before the lunar new year. It would have to be closed for part of the new year public holiday. Meaning it would almost cat inlay have to have opened before "earlier this month".

I was in Shanghai and December (ie more than a month ago) and there was a giant Sephora on Nanjing E Road. So either this article got its facts wrong, or they've opened a newer store (I can't remember if that one resembled the photo of this one).

Why the assumption that I should automatically be shaving my legs and keep doing so?
