Because "get an office job" is something you can just magically do and anyone who wants one can have one.

I feel like - it's OK for people of both sexes to think to themselves (and possibly mutter to friends) "no eye candy here, too bad" or "no cute guys/gals to look at - oh well" before getting on with their lives. It is NOT OK to post that to Facebook as though you're entitled to hot ass at your neuroscience conference.

I would have to be killer desperate for a job to even consider giving an employer my password (I wouldn't be going into a public sector job anyway - I am a teacher but not in the USA and I'm not a schoolteacher. I don't even like kids). If I didn't need the job I would in all seriousness just tell them..."no, I'm not

I don't think anyone here is saying they'd actually want to date Lochte. They wouldn't want to be around him longer than needed to hit-and-run. We'd (well, they'd - he's not my type even looks-wise) use him for sex and then run away before he could say anything. If that's what a guy wants, then yeah, he could emulate

You don't need to wear white, or cream, or any other light color either.

I've lived in Taiwan for 5 1/2...and am an average looking white girl. I agree mostly about Taiwanese men: by our standards a lot of them are "effeminate", and a lot of them who like a foreign girl won't come out and say so.

"How am I going to remember them? I'm not" - err, if you really like someone, you remember them. You just do.

I live in Taiwan (I'm a Western woman married to a Western man).

I haven't read everything but so far I haven't seen this point brought up: how on earth is the school going to catch the girls who decide to stay on Facebook? Change your name and hide your e-mail, or if you have a common name, keep your real name knowing that you could be any given person in New York with that name:
