Shallow-privileged-white-girl says what?
I know you are, but what am I?
I know you are, but what am I?
You and I are having parallel bang-heads-against-the-wall attempts at reasonably discussing this with DrDonna whose self-righteousness is so fucking off-the-charts that I’m starting to think she was fully aware of what she was doing up top.
I know you are. But what am I?
I’m just matching stubborn for stubborn, here. Are you angry? You keep going, too? Are you unreasonable? You haven’t stopped replying to my replies?
Ah, and now the accusation that I am ANGRY because being angry invalidates anything one says. Anger is something one should never be when one is discussing issues. Emotion is to be avoided at all costs and the moment one exhibits emotion, one’s points are invalidated.
Yeah, no.
If I reexplained using examples of trans misogyny being derailed by silly straight girl examples, would you get it then? Or do you only care about bigotry when it centers on your own experience?
I’m not looking for a fight — you accused me of using a strawman, which I didn’t. What you appear to be trying to do in this entire thread, though, is stop people from making you uncomfortable! And if that is not your intent, then you need to look at what you’re doing and reconsider your approach.
Oh, was it a strawman? Could you explain how it was a strawman when I used specific examples from the conversation to highlight the shallowness of your comment?
This is surprising except oh wait no it isn’t
Postcards from the Edge
Well, considering that nearly every country in Europe competed in the sport of colonizing brown- and black-occupied land masses for profit, I think pretending only the US is “stupid” (aka racist) flatters them.
OH THANK GOD IT WASN’T RACISM! I thought it was maybe racism, but since you were asked about surfing which is the exact same as implying an entire nation is illiterate or has yet to move beyond pre-Colonial modes of transportation which implies a larger lack of “civilization,” it is ALL GOOD.
OMG, their fan must be heartbroken.
Honestly, my original post was meant much more existentially than it was taken, and I was just riffing after that.
Me, too! I was going to overcome my crowd-fears and go and I’d RSVP’d and decided what I’d wear, and then I had to have a procedure Thursday and felt like shit :|
(i love this comment so much)
I think “people who accomplished a specific thing that enabled story we know to happen” is or at least can be great (eg Rogue One, Dunkirk, from certain angles the Hobbit... I’m sure there are more?)
