Seriously, this is the prudiest country of prudes to ever prude. It’s exhausting how pearl-clutchily, ickily obsessed we are as a nation with sex while simultaneously determined to have or find sex in every single thing going. We’re especially determined to ferret out anything that might be sinfully sexy if we just

Ugh, I hated the last book. It felt rushed and perfunctory and the miserable ending entirely unearned. It ruined the entire series for me. I haven’t reread it since, but I was not that young when I did read it and had already seen and appreciated Casablanca so I’m not sure a reread will alter my opinion.

He will storm the gates of heaven using the power of DISCO DANCING!

The first series with Jaime is one of the all-time best comic books ever. I love it with all my heart.

He’s 6’ tall. How is that tiny?

I would argue that this was because the role was miscast. Had they cast the right person (Angela Bassett), the role would have been different — the movies would have been different.

I still can’t get over how they didn’t do this. It was absolutely the right time, the right woman, the right moment. Imagine HER playing Storm opposite Stewart and McKellan? I like Halle Berry and all, but Angela Bassett IS a fucking goddess.

It’s very slow-burn for all the characters, but sticking with it will pay off in the long run. Mad Men is a staunchly feminist show.

One thing we do know, is that at least in his youth, he was a GREAT actor because he was totally believable as Lloyd Dobler.

Oh, no! I’ve never heard anything about his sister before! Now I have a fresh sad :-(

OMG, yes! When I was allowed (ahem) to follow his Twitter, his spelling was so bad! And he was constantly screwing up links.

I am unsurprised. Also very sorry you had to deal with his ego in real life :P

I never liked him.

John Cusack was a massive dick to me on Twitter when he apparently thought I’d tweeted something rude to him (I made comment on one of his tweets about how depressing the linked video was — which it was and was meant to be, so...?)

I have a friend who has worked for many years at Barnes and Noble in a mid-sized city in one of the more conservative states in the Midwest and has transitioned during that time. Health care and transition needs were, I understand from friend, covered (or at least as much as anything is covered by one’s work
