Maybe he's using fashion to deal with the pain? Did he crack an inappropriate joke, too? Because I hear that really helps people through the difficulty of hearing about bad stuff that happened to other people.

No, it isn't. Amazon's so confusing — you click "Kindle" and it still shows you whatever edition it wants to, so I was mistaken on what edition it was. The cover shown is from the NESFA Press special hardcover edition. Not Baen.
And then gave it little monkey therapy, I hope. And lots of treats. FOREVER.
Dude, what are you feeding your cats?
I fully expected this to be a report about how cats were causing global climate change.
While I question the "millions" statistic, that makes me sad, too, but at least there isn't a pathetic picture of them all on io9's home page. :(
I don't remember any scenes with lasers or wizards in that. Is there a director's cut?
I think it's a requirement for Baen no matter when they publish a book, but this cover is much newer than that — it's for the Kindle edition.
Her book covers are almost always really bad. It's a mystery since I don't think this is even a Baen reprint so we can't blame that usual source of cover suckiness.
I am so sad right now. That poor monkey.
I would put Borders of Infinity higher just because that is such a tour-de-force of brains and chutzpah over military might and is just so perfectly Miles (and is my favorite Miles story, full-stop), but this is a great list.
That is my new favorite website. Amazing and such beautiful pictures. They almost look like Impressionist paintings.
I wasn't getting pissy but never mind. You "had to be that person" and it set me off. I guess I had to be that person, too. Sorry.
Sure, but the point was that the original person was talking about the verdict based on the case presented and that it was the correct verdict for the case made and you were mad about that, but that wasn't a value judgement on any shoulds — lots of things should be different and if they were then their consequences…
If they couldn't prove the case they brought then she shouldn't have been convicted. That is the system working.
I never said you did? But if you're telling people they're feeding their pets crap food, you are judging their choices and presuming they can afford better.
