How can anyone look at the Ruby seductions scenario as anything but an acquiescence of a fat woman. Her whole narrative is built around the fact that she is not light skinned and petite as Leti, and even though she gives a fierce monologue at the bar...she STILL fucks him?!!! I feel like I’m watching a different show…
Um...I find it baffling that anyone would find this narrative and this series as a whole rewarding. Every episode restarts as if their shared reality doesn’t exist. This was not Indiana Jones, people, this was National Treasure. Are you kidding me with that massive cave and bridge to nowhere. Yet, improbably we’re…
Look, I am definitely not a fan of Two and a Half Men. But what’s interesting about Mom is that the other show runners are all women and it’s the most female centric network sitcom on the air.
Uh, they should just cancel the series then. I enjoy the other performances, but it makes no sense to continue wo/Christy. They’ve already re-tooled this series numerous times. And Allison Janney gets a lot of work outside the series. But alas, CBS....
This Woodstock redux gets a lot of coverage. But the Woodstock 94, also on MTV, was pretty successful.
Oh my, yet another HH shout out! I should have read this thread before posting. I’m happy to discover that there are (clearly) a lot of fans of The Boys that read AV Club.
Ha, I should have assumed someone else would give a shout out to her HH appearances. She rulez. This is a perfect choice, I feel.
Great casting choice. Ayo is super funny, she rulez on Hollywood Handbook. And she’ll be perfect.
There is simply no way to know Cruise on a day to day basis and not be exposed to the cult of Scientology.
Ok, ok. WTF is ‘Garth Brooks Energy’?
I loved Amazon’ version of The Tick. That show deserved at least one more season, for sure.
I was pretty high when I watched it for a HDTGM episode. And then revisited it when listening to the Newcomers podcast. It’s entrancing in a very uncomfortable way. I love the Bea Arthur number and the Diahann Carroll disco song.
Here’s an episode of Newcomer - a Star Wars conten podcast w/Nicole Byer and Lauren Lapkus-wherein they discuss their approval and enjoyment of the original special. And the special is available on YouTube. https://art19.com/shows/newcomers-star-wars/episodes/8721cf1a-a2ac-47bd-9e75-9025b57950f2
Man D’Arcy Carden is on fire right now. So well deserved. And I’m 100% on board with this series, and it’s more inclusive focus. This is exciting.
Hah, I didn’t know it played in Vegas. I saw it in London while I was on vacation there. It played at the beautiful and intimate Gielgud Theatre.
I loved Avenue Q,. I’ve always wanted to be in a production of that show, cause I got my start as a young performing puppeteer. And I consider Miss Piggy a personal hero.
You are correct, there was a lot of that. And it was just an undergraduate program too. So it wasn’t like, TAs and 21 yr old students. There was also a lot of drug use, and under aged drinking. But that was the good part of studying theater. We had much better parties, booze, and drugs than the frats and sororities.
