I’ve thought about that observation of college theater for awhile. I studied in 1993 thru 1997, and often had major traumatic reactions to be touched or having to do ‘trust’ exercises. I also rec’d pushback from professors every time I expressed my discomfort. We also did a lot of ‘edgy’ plays with nudity and sex

Wow, I didn’t even know Jodorowsky was still alive, let along making ‘movies’.

Oh, wow, that’s a good one. I know that I’ve experienced schadenfreude, fremdschämen, and backpfeifengesicht all at the same time.

I concur. But I would also add to the list of very punchable faces: Steve Mnuchin, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, and Mick Mulvaney. These are all Republicans, of course, but, as a Progressive, there are a lot of Dems I would like to punch in the face as well. But there visages don’t immediately illicit violence in me.

Wow, between this and schadenfreude, it seems the German language has a knack for nailing complex (or dangerous) feelings into one word. Efficient as always, I suppose.

I remember really liking the TV show Our House in 1986 with Shannen Doherty.

I watched the whole series, but the story strained credulity for sure. The performances saved it though, especially the performances from Kerry and the young actors.

I dunno, Regina King has rec’d a lot of love recently. And deservedly so. But even if she does lose - she’s won a previous Emmy for a TV movie in 2018,and she’s one an Oscar. As has Blanchett, I suppose. Both women were outstanding in these performances. Little Fires Everywhere had some overwrought writing issues. But

What?? Not trying to be a bitch at all. But, I feel the backbone of Succession is the opportunity for the actors to show a range that many other shows don’t offer to performers. Succession really is the textbook definition of a ‘dramedy’ and actors love the opportunity to show that type of stylistic range. Look, this

I immediately had the same reaction, but then realized it wasn’t eligible. B/C every year that show is eligible it should get nominations across all the categories.

Kristen Bell is amazing on The Good Place. But I can imagine that she and the entire production team are thrilled that D’Arcy finally got a nomination. The episode where she played all of the different characters in the show was an absolute stand out.

Oh, also What We Do... getting so many writing noms! Man, I know there are people disappointed with this list, and if I watched BCS, I would probably be upset as well. But the shows I watch/watched mostly got nominations that are worthy and I’m delighted. Take Kominsky Method and Stranger Things off the table, and I

Now this is a nominee list I can fuck with!! So happy with the choices, well at least for the shows I watch. Succession nominated with almost all the major players getting noms. Some love to Dead to Me and both the women in that show. Very well deserved nods for Margo, Tracy Ullman, and Cate for their work in Mrs.

I agree, especially since the Muppet Songs were covers. What’s sadder, I think, is that often it’s  the studios that own the rights instead of the creators/artists.

I’d be happy just being able to watch the old episodes. There’s always been chatter about the song rights, but I’m pretty sure Disney could figure that out. Plus, I seem to remember there being DVD compilations back in the day, so I’m not sure why we can’t just have them.

Mason can’t even afford a tie, let alone a suit with a vest. So, probably not yet.

Regular Hulu has all FX and FXX shows now. And will have the new season as well, episodes become available the day after it airs on cable. I’m so stoked about it, b/c I’m a cord cutter who doesn’t miss any cable channel except for FX and FXX.

Yeah, that tracks. Although, I think he’s based on a character in the book series, though?

The last two episodes have been the best of the season, so this is welcome news. I’m sure not everyone would be returning, except the established characters in the novels. Meaning, of course, there would be a new mystery and we probably won’t be seeing Tatiana Maslaney in any new season.
