Professional sports and the announcers have made it a point for as long as I can remember to ignore protesters at games to purposely avoid bringing them attention. They usually do this to people that jump on the field too.

Can you blame them? If they bothered to acknowledge the protest on the broadcast, they'd have to take a minute or two to cover the story on Sports Center. That would inevitably lead to the issue becoming a 'must cover' for the next week on every insipid sports talk show they air during the week.
