I don't think that't true - I think the public image as put forth by that movie is like barbed wire fencing. You can kind of coast on it and let it do all the work while you ignore other people as they are preoccupied with the handfed assumptions about your background.

I hate the thought of those good will hunting exploiters relocating to NYC but I would actually like to see what Johnny Depp would overpay for in Manhattan. If he's not in it, then I think it's smart.

yeah! Erasure put gay sounding music on the map but Vince Clarke is married to a lady - is he bi? is this about the inner candy quality of English musical talent?

Stephen Chow actually was very attractive in the early 80s when I saw him on some children's show semi torturing the toddlers on TVB but his hairstyle is not fun and he has that stiffer more hesitant mouth that Daniel Wu, Chan Cheng, Edison Chen and Ekin Yee Meen have - it's a stiffness - Nicolas Tse evaded that cold

the only one who made sense who was actually a component of NYC itself was Joe Jackson now the NYTimes is all over Sting and Elvis Costello who spent their formative heyday years not in NYC so that's pretty weird.

one of them is NESTING in hipster Brooklyn and a Depeche Mode guy is a family guy in Manhattan.

I don't read Dickens but think about those rough and ruthless stories.

I don;t find it charming but it is in attack mode. if any of those lines were delivered in real life, I wouldn't be happy about it. Liam Neeson had terrible lines in that movie. So did the little boy.

like who?? I don;t remember that.

that movie is like a department store is not about everyday life outside of that store.

she didn't look plain to me.

I think it means she put her family first. But she should be too smart for Alan Rickman even if she were unattractive because he would be less smart and boring.

there's that DIDO song so if you've never seen it - you don't have to see it.

ew that horrible story about the banoffee pie and kiera knightly doing her squinched up cat face (we used to have a needlepoint of a kitten doing that so I am not hating)

no she won't. even that woman from truly madly deeply - the ending made no sense - she moved on QUICK. what the heck is going on in England?

words and human interactions are dangerous and love actually is a great example of that and so is Nora Ephron which I don't really watch - if you aren't somewhat immune, if you were the target designed for these movies like certain charming vloggers - then it's very sad for you - because you will become unhappy(er) as

it's insubtantial and it's not - it has a lot of messages - some feel good but also deadly and it's all intentional. How can the English lie so much and so well. And when his grandfather taught him to shoot Germans, did they already know the sacrifices that Hugh Grant would personally have to make for hasbara?

yeah I have to focus but I think it's designed to be slippery and to be … hypnotic - maybe if you're angry, you'll be lke what is this horseshit, eff the english, I hate them, those bastards - but this is like amazing - i wish Nora Ephron had done big ensemble pieces because she was very tricky as well.

Kwah?

look at Depeche Mode and Erasure ending up with American girls - it seems to work in the other direction too.
