when no one else wants to hear those songs anymore, the creators, their kids, their grandkids can still play those songs at family gatherings and enjoy that their family made those songs - that it came from their blood.

Did that Universe movie make money? I didnt see it. Or that Cirque Du Soleil show using their music?

given the success of youtube singers who cover popular songs - I dont think record companies are so important anymore. I'm not anti record companies - I have no idea what they are - other than Ahmet Ertegan (sp?) having a really strong art collection in Switzerland.

but I think that Sony's attitude would be even if it isn't worth anything in terms of revenue - having power and control - that might be enough for them to keep something - because they wouldn't care what people think. And I don't know anything about Sony because I never owned their products as far as I can recall

uh oh is this a character test? am i going to have to boycott Joe Jackson songs if Sony refuses to give Paul McCartney back his rights?

don't condominiums have some clause where the building gets the first right to purchase a unit that goes on the market?

well if you own something - it's no one else's business if they want it. Sony doesn't have to sell anything but isn't this case about Paul using the US law to get them back?

To my mom, those ARE the good ones - the ones when the Beatles were these nice boys from England who seemed very kind. I think she got married before hearing their other songs and doesn't really know about them but she says the Beatles are GOOD music.

maybe Paul McCartney is okay with her owning it - she chose it for pleasure not money. That's a pretty good gatekeeper.

I LOVE THAT SONG. I totally forgot about it - for some reason I think that Madness' Our House is the mate to that song.

the Motown stuff is amazing but other than the Supremes or Phil Collins' cover - I think that we're missing out on that being kept current.

Which ones are the earwigs?

they HAVE to be better than Beethoven - I totally don't get Beethoven.

because LITE radio always played the worst Beatles songs - the really slow ones like Yesterday - and some other one - and my mother would turn it up.

Joe Jackson makes them sound very current. I like FOR NO ONE a lot. That one's delicious - I would buy that one but not now if Sony is mean to Paul McCartney.

yeah everytime the Sony logo appears like Vaio in James Bond movies we can all be reminded that they are anti Paul McCartney.

Does the Chinese market know about Sony Music? Who is controlling those mega successful acts? A billion plus fans in the Chinese diaspora - all controlled by foreign record companies?

I admire Paul McCartney's enduring bite. Plenty of people would have been freaked out by Yoko Ono so much that they would be shut up in some bedroom dipping into a satchel of fairy dust trying to forget. Paul McCartney is an Iron Fairy. Too bad he's not a lawyer - it only takes a couple of years and these

I don't have better taste - there just aren't any taco bells around - Yum doesn't seem interested in the American market as much as the Chinese one. I've only had chipotle twice but I think cusotmers should have the more .. intestinally friendly chipotle option with its corporate caliber improved sanitation

I only bought Hostel because of the title because I knew I would never be a backpacker especially at my advanced age. I really wasnt' into horror.
But Hostel was amazing - it absolutely conveyed what it is like to be in the custody of killers - the terror and hopelessness of being grabbed by killers and how they will
