Well, that’s how victim-centered justice goes, institutionally speaking. If a victim of domestic violence doesn’t want to file charges against their spouse, the D.A.’s office usually goes along with what they want, so as not to further re-traumatize them by forcing them to testify or whatever.

Correct!  Patriarchy very much concerns itself with who has what parts to assign who gets power.  

We’ve designed an entire society and its systems of power around what kind of genitals a person has. So it makes sense people highly invested in maintaining those systems would find any movement to make genitals less important to be an existential threat. 

At the risk of being all ‘not all cisgender people’ - I usually just assume everyone’s using their genitals for the same reason I do: sex and toileting, neither of which are my fucking business so I just say in my lane.
