Not enough money to be made by the ruling class in actually providing a decent living to our formerly incarcerated. Much better (for them) to keep the for-profit prisons they own full of ready slave labor they can exploit.

I’m so sorry. Hugs to you and your family.
I hear Argentina’s nice.
I think it’s less about kissing Trump’s ass than it is about being able to tell Trump’s faithful that they are all in when they inevitably run for president.
Here in Oregon, apparently, one person went to work sick and 7 people died because of it. It’s so fucked the decisions you have to make because you can’t afford to take the time off work.

I think this is a big problem with Supernatural procedurals. Supernatural went this route, too, and it was never as good as when it was just a Monster of the Week episode.
It really makes me so sad. I wish I could go back in time and tell myself not to bother cutting out their pictures to put in my locker.
The Supreme Court ruled that fines/removal of faithless electors is constitutional earlier this year: https://www.npr.org/2020/07/06/885168480/supreme-court-rules-state-faithless-elector-laws-constitutional
It’s like a Dremel, which is what I use to sand my dog’s nails.
Now, now. We know this crop of “Christians” doesn’t actually follow what the bible says, unless it’s the part about gay sex being grody and wives doing what their husbands say.
Tennent is so compelling as the bad guy that it is easy to see how he is able to compel people to do his bidding. It really is an amazing role for him. And none of the other villains could live up to his legacy.
I’m also feeling bad for the lady who donated the tree from her property. She wanted to bring joy to the city, and people shit all over her gigantic tree. I’m sure it will look fine when it’s all dolled up, and the first few Charlie Brown tree comments were funny, but man this escalated.
That is true, and I should have been more specific. I got a Roku Ultra as a Black Friday gift a few years ago because I wanted to be able to watch DC Universe. Of course, two weeks later DC finally capitulated and allowed the app on Amazon. So it does work for me and some other Roku devices but not all of them.
Roku also just added AirPlay capability, so I can use AirPlay to play HBOMax from my phone on my Roku.
Seriously the reason I wore men’s pants for years. The pockets are amazing — and the fabric tends to be a lot more durable.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve got gout. My husband has it, too, and it’s no joke. He takes a tart cherry and turmeric supplement to help prevent attacks, in addition to our diet modifications. He doesn’t require prescriptions for it, at this point.
You can always tell us diet soda devotees because we call the other “regular.” Everyone else just calls it Coke and Pepsi. :) And I do LOVE a good real-sugar grape or orange soda, myself.
“Thick” is the way I’ve always described how sugar soda tastes to me. I grew up drinking mainly Tab and Diet Coke, and I still prefer Diet Coke to any other soda. Regular Pepsi is atrocious, and regular Coke is absolutely, positively thick.
