I and many others need her to stick around as a reminder of both the first woman nominee of a major party and the bigoted crap from both sides she faced that has yet to be solved.

any goddamn person who uses the phrase “identity politics” when what they mean is “will you please stop yammering on about abortion, please? It makes me feel kinda icky.”

I (and many others) voted for her but just wish she would move on...The Bernie/Hillary wars have done an immense amount of damage to the ranks

The problems with the Dems are not that a woman is still talking.

Why are you trying to demoralize someone based off the politics of 20+ years ago? Yes, it would be great if everyone had always been supporters of gay marriage, but that’s obviously not the case as it just happened less than two years ago. Can we please focus on homophobes of the present, as there are many?

Unfortunately, Socialism hasn’t yet been able to get to the point of actually implementing any kind of social justice, big-time or otherwise.

What about white women and black men who remember Hillary Clinton’s insistence on mandatory minimum sentences

Majority of DEMOCRATS are what these people (like this writer) refer to as “centrists”.

You mean most of the people that don’t read blogs like this one. I know I have to work with others I may not like to get anything done where I work. That’s how congress is too. That’s how I define myself as a centrist. I can support liberal policies but am willing to whore myself out a bit to get them passed. What’s

“trying to repackage and shovel the same policies voters have rejected right back at them”

Hey fellow Dems...how about showing up at the polls once in a while? Like every election from the bottom all the way up to national level. We can yammer on about policy this and neoliberal that but when it comes down to it, it means fuckall if you don’t pull the lever.

They’re tired of the bullshit, the political correctness, using our tax dollars to bring in people from Syria and Somalia, all this other stuff with homosexuality.

Yeah, I kind of feel bad about doing that now...

It’s not up to Margaret Cho to alleviate Tilda Swinton’s white guilt. It’s not her job. She is not Representative Asian #4. If Swinton had mixed feelings, she has the money to avoid the role and choose something else. Once she chose to move forward and do the role, then who is benefiting from those guilt feelings,

Yeah, it was still not okay to seek out an Asian person you don’t know to have the white person guilt convo, and that is really how it looks to me. She joked about it afterward, but the feelings of having to hear/witness/be asked to be in that conversation must have been maddening.
