Hodakas are cool but I would hold out for a Combat Wombat or Road Toad as the coolest Hodaka model names

My Auschwitz-survivor grandfather-in-law will be 100 in April.

As sad as this is, I’m glad she never seemed to enter a period of prolonged and extreme decline like so many people her age do. She lived long and died quickly, and that’s basically the dream.

I drove a tow truck as a side hustle for AAA back in the day and from the looks of it, she is lucky the car didn’t kill her if she had to stop quickly in route since it wasn’t strapped down AT ALL. The way I was taught - sure you can apply the vehicle’s parking brake but you better not rely solely on that. We had to

I did all of the other ones and the subframe ones are coming out hard. I ordered more press pieces that should be here tomorrow and will get all of them out of the subframe tommorow. Subframe and all pieces I am going to save are going to the sandblaster next week then off to powdercoat.

Tipping the vending machine will NOT result in free product :p

When you make sleds 4 stroke, you kill a fair amount of the power/weight advantage they have over battery electric ones. Sooner or later, 2 stroke snowmobiles will be outlawed in a bunch of states that actually have a fair bit of a market (Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Maine, New Hampshire). Yep, the red

As an EV proponent, I’m still fine with snowmobiles staying gas powered. But this smog-belching 2-stroke shit needs to go, and take its buzzy-ass sounds and soot-covered trails with it.

I can see this for recreational snowmobiles where you go out, blast around, come back, load it on your truck and come home again.

Why would you knowingly accept a car with defects and then KEEP it after the delivery person literally drops it on the ground?

A quick note on BMW Airhead nomenclature, the /6 indicated a generation rather than anything to do with engine size. This followed on from the /5 which was the first generation, replacing the older Earles fork /2. The next generation was /7 before BMW gave up on it and just used R100, R80, R65 etc. for base street

I know we all have our white whale and what not, but goddamn is this truck beautiful.

Asking and selling price are two different things, but I’ll be curious to see what he gets for it. The freshly built engine is nice, but it sounds like he’s trying to recoup that cost.

The dude just put 5 or 6 grand into a motor rebuild so he’s trying to get the money back on that I suppose. But that obviously begs the question as to why he’d go through that and turn around to sell it 6 months later?

I appreciate the engine rebuild/mods and work that into this one, but at this mileage and price I am going to need perfection...and the paint issues make this a ND.

79-93 were 4 lug hubs. What are you talking about?

All the cons of owning a boat without any of the pros. You can’t even “just chill” on this thing. There’s no room to lay down or just put your feet up, nor is there a place to put some chairs, an umbrella, and an ice chest for a few hours on a secluded lake shore.

So $4500 is the new $3000 as far as fuggit money and car purchases right? This thing is nice enough to run to cars and coffee, cheap enough you could run errands in it and not worry about the occasional scuff, and Mon dieu is it quirky and French.  Easy nice price, and I would use it to run and get Le coffee and Le

People are too focused on “it’s bad” and not focused enough on “you can meet really weird people at Cars & Coffee.”

I just replied to someone else with the same answer.
