Actually, a billion more votes for Hillary would have confirmed the well held belief of voter fraud in Illinois in every election for the last 150 years. If Illinois could field a billion votes, then their electoral college number would about 1200 so they could decide the election.

It seems odd to me that, given his past success with the triangle he doesn’t seem to understand that he currently does not have the players that fit it. I’m baffled by this.

Popovich said that in one of the other Deadspin articles, something along the lines of how he hates the 3pt shot but he has to do it because that’s how you win nowadays. Who’s team has been to 19 straight playoffs? I guess its consistency vs. luck

The triangle offense was perfectly suited to the talent that was on that team, especially once they added Rodman into the mix.

The Knicks do actually have talent, but they are not suited to that style of offense. Adopting a scheme that suits your talent is way more successful (eg, that inexplicable Bronocos playoff

Well, right, which is why I spent most of my post talking more about the level boost than the cost, but the actual price IS an actual concern: before they started giving people free expansions, it would have been pricey and confusing to see what you had to buy, if the Battle Chest covered everything, etc. The overall

Both. You need schemes that best take advantage of your match-ups.

Offensive schemes do matter. See OKC thunder. Had two of the top 10 players in the league and only made 1 finals.

Yes, though I’d probably call it more of “shifted” than “adjusted”.

Scheme definitely matters. Having the talent helps, but deploying it matters a lot, especially in the playoffs.

Of course it would. And that’s exactly what a Knicks team that has 1) no interior defense, 2) very few outside shooters, and 3) even less shot creators needs.....organizational drama lol

They succeeded, period. MJ and Scottie, Shaq and Kobe, and Kobe and Pau would have succeeded in ANY OFFENSE. The issue is that Phil knows this. SO he wants to force us to treat his offense like it created success, when it was the players he had around him that did.

As far as I can tell, there’s not really a firm consensus on how much the triangle really helped.

I once bullshitted a college Leadership presentation on Phil Jackson in which I kept talking about how Jackson relates his whole zen lifestyle and leadership style to the Triangle Offense. Even as I was saying the words to the class I felt like I was overdoing it. I got an A on the project.

1) It’s actually very possible Blizzard doesn’t have a working version of Vanilla. When you turn over your tech every so often, it’s very easy to lose things, even if you fully intend to keep them.

As someone who works in software, when you don’t have a concrete plan or aren’t ready to talk about something, “were discussing it internally” is about all you can say. Anything more before you’re willing to commit just causes problems.

Blizzard “should” do so no such thing. They didn’t just say they wouldn’t discuss it. They said specifically said they wouldn’t have any updates ready to discuss until after the show. They didn’t say they wouldn’t discuss, and quite frankly it’s dishonest for you to even imply that.

“Putting blizzard on notice” was stupid and pointless. Blizzard went out of their way BEFORE blizzcon to say that they wouldn’t be discussing it there because they weren’t ready yet.

Well, it’s never been easier to be a new player. You now only have to buy the base game and the expansion, so that’s like $60 total. And you get a level boost so you can automatically start doing that expansion’s content. The level boost has a little bit of a tutorial that’ll teach you how to get acquainted with a
