Yeah, I wondered what the article meant with “cleaning it is no fun.” (I didn’t click on the link, so I’ll just assume it’s some weird article about some strange edge case or something.) I just use a swiffer on a stick, and it takes very little time indeed.

That still doesn’t mean he can stop Zaslav, who is absolutely a numbers guy because shareholders only care about numbers. This was a financial decision; no way would Gunn have the clout to do anything about that.

That’s not how this works.  You think Gunn can overrule Zaslav??

It really is that terrible.  I know Moore works tend to get corrupted, but this was hilariously awful.

Some people are mad yes, but to be cancelled is to affect the business of their career, and that didn’t really happen with Chapelle.

Wow. I mean...wow.

Yes, well, we will have to disagree on that.  Market forces IMO are at best crude and at worst wildly inefficient.

Because the government benefits greatly from the industry, and having a ton of Filipino maritime workers suddenly lose jobs would certainly negatively affect things back home.

If you’re asking me how we get rid of an entrenched system that controls all the resources and is used to service the very wealthy, where the wealthy can then ensure that laws and regulations work in their favor by funding election campaigns, well, I don’t know the answer to that. It’s a system that protects its own

It’s because someone decided to take Seven Samurai and dump a fuckton of fantasy clichés into a blender with it. Everyone making superhero poses and whatnot.

I’m not disagreeing with you overall; I’m just not sure about some of the details.  Perhaps there’s some kind of system we could work out where people on assistance get a discount or credit or something.

The specific magic fairy that you’re counting on hardly matters.

OK, so let’s agree that a gas tax is regressive and punitive until some magic fairy comes along and completely redoes the geography, infrastructure, etc. of the country so we can relocate the populations into denser areas more easily served by public transportation.

I mean, you’re not wrong, but I don’t see how that’s very relevant to the discussion at hand.  The country is what it is.

Yeah; I’m currently driving a UX hybrid, but I’ll likely replace it with an NX hybrid. The PHEV seems intriguing to me, but not at that price premium.

Gas taxes are regressive and punish the poor, though.

Why?
