Lighten up, Francis.
Lighten up, Francis.
I did, but it was an Internet-based number, so there was no way to track him down.
No, he used an Internet-based # so we couldn’t track him down. So no consequences, since, as you so rightly state, the world is horrible and anonymous.
Put it in the back of a brodozer. It can be a shuttlecraft!
Username checks out.
If there’s one thing this whole ball of idiocy has taught me, it’s to regularly do Google sweeps of my name/address/etc. to see what’s out there.
My boss at work asked me to tell the story on our staff call. It’s an attention-grabber for sure!
Thank you! Yes, I think so; I had some long conversations with the cops over this.
Oh absolutely the cops were interested, and so was I. But the dude used an Internet phone #. There was no way to track him down. Otherwise, absolutely I would have seen the guy go to prison.
Not gonna lie; my brain goes somewhere else when I read “Kirby art book.” :)

Thanks. I did some Googling afterwards, and found it on one site online (since removed). My name was on my Twitter, so that’s all it took, and public records gave him my address.
I am so sorry that happened to you. I’m sure that was scary af!
Yeah, I can laugh about it now, but my daughter and daughter-in-law were in tears at the time.
Yep. In brief, the story went something like this:
Well that’s better than when someone wanted my Twitter handle so badly they SWATted me...
The two thin ones balance out the fat one!
You might think that, but I’ve seen them used by AWS, for example. Just transit links, so it doesn’t matter outside of that network, but still, it gives me the heebie jeebies.
Chromie Time alone is huge. There’s also a new universal starting area that’s supposed to be more newb-friendly. When you roll a new toon, you can choose between that and the legacy racial starting areas. Then you do the starting area until level 10 (unless you’re in a locked starting area like the Wandering Isle).…
Yup! Although if it’s 169.254.x.x, you probably have other issues (that range is for link local addresses, and a router shouldn’t even accept a route for those); Microsoft uses that range for your IP address when you don’t get a proper one some other way.
I can’t believe someone picked the Odyssey2!
