Generally speaking, the people who write articles like this don’t really understand finance.
The problem is that a fuel tax is regressive, and for many of us who live 50 miles from work, it’s not because we wanted to, or because we desired a McMansion; it’s because that’s how far you have to go in some areas to find affordable housing.
