What a crazy & thought-provoking post! I loved reading everyone's answers.

I've become that person that stands in Sephora standing stock-still in front of a display as I look up swatches on the make-up blogs. EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. Nice to meet fellow swatch lovers.

Ah, but the miracle that is Sephora lets you return the duds! Also, even if it doesn't *actually* make a difference (please don't tell me if that's the case!), I find that wiping the lipstick sample top with alcohol (which they have) mentally prepares me for putting it on the tester that will touch my lips.

100% absolutely, could not be more the same about lipstick. I have so many. Too many, but I can't bear to part with them. Also, I've been searching for berry and deep colored lipsticks that aren't a massive pain to put on (looking at you, Dior Addict Extreme in Black Tie and Sunset Blvd!); so far, my favorites are
