Man, point (d) really seems petty in comparison to, like, all of the rest.

We aren’t talking about where the foul occurred, we’re talking about if a foul occurred.

I can’t find confirmation, but I actually think you’re correct, which just makes her results that much more sad. And agreed, all around.

Nah, that’s why there is such a thing as a “smart foul.” I don’t have any problem with defenders ending the run of play in exchange for a yellow card, especially considering both of our center backs took yellows for just that purpose.

The counter-argument is roughly “she lost control of the ball,” but even if you accept that (I don’t... that’s been her move all tournament), it’s a flimsy defense of the foul.

I’ll still favor someone trying something bold and difficult and failing than just resigning themselves to the easiest road to failure. Rodriguez would have looked brilliant; Morgan was always going to be disappointed with the result.

Not sure about the Group and R16, but the QF and SF games are being rebroadcast on FS1. You’d have to check your listings, but I somehow ended up with the replay of England-Canada on my DVR rather than the live broadcast.

Can we talk about Alex Morgan’s total lack of confidence in front of goal? That throughball she squandered in the first half was taken exactly like someone who didn’t think she would score, but didn’t want to be blamed for missing. She just isn’t shooting freely... and for some reason, she keeps forcing it with her

and even then you could argue that it wasn’t even a foul.

With the exception of Morgan starting ahead of Rodriguez, this is the lineup and formation I wanted. It’s half-time and we’ve dominated Germany thus far, so I’m just going to take the time to say:

MARK RICHT HAS LOST CONTROL OF THEIR CHOLESTEROL.

The better question: would a CFL team winning the SEC East finally be enough to fire Mark Richt?

I think Leroux is fast, I just don’t think she’s quick. It takes her a couple steps to accelerate, and unfortunately on turf, those through balls aren’t waiting for her to run onto. She’s not able to get around a defender and beat her to the ball before the keeper can come off her line.

I don’t want to hear a snide remark about Creationism and Global Warming denial from you ever again.

Blaming Wambach-ball for everyone else’s duffs is silly. We’ve had plenty of credible opportunities that we just squandered. With the exceptions of the Sweden game and the first half against Australia, we’ve certainly created more chances for ourselves than we’ve conceded.

I see the switch to a PvP server has really honed your skills, Chris.

Our strikers have proven to be the weakest part of our lineup. Why do we want more of them on the field? Wambach is shit, Leroux—allegedly our most athletic—has looked positively slow and ineffective in playing any sort of combination, Rodriguez wasn’t able to find the frame on multiple chances, Press has been

That was my observation as well. I’d rather see her come off the bench with Wambach if we need a late goal. I think the problem is that, as talented as she is at possessing and creating space for herself, she never finds a particularly useful ball that isn’t a cross, and we just don’t have the target in Wambach that

Well, he’s technically not a public figure now that he’s gone into hiding.

The anti-vaccination movement got its start in the ‘60s and ‘70s, according to Emory University historian Elena Conis, who told the Los Angeles Times it was a natural outgrowth of the environmentalist movement and an increasing engagement among women in their children’s medical decisions. Combine that with
