I never really gave it a chance thanks to that review. Interesting.
The more recent "Cry of the Owl" adaptation wasn't great but I kind of liked it anyway. I'll give "Ripley's Game" a fair shot, since "The American Friend" was half-composed of "Ripley Underground" anyway.
