My experience with my nephews who grew up with all six movies is that they didn't used to differentiate the two trilogies. They liked all of them. Now that they are teenagers, when they want to watch them it's either Empire Strikes Back or Revenge of the Sith.

I foisted it on my nephews about ten years ago, but their fandom took on a life of its own they are still huge fans. I started by showing them A New Hope when they were five and I was a bit nervous because by modern standards it's kind of slow, but they were sucked in immediately.
