AV Club writers have weird memories. Modest Mouse and Flaming Lips certainly should have at least been runners-up in their respective letters for not only their ubiquity but also the quality of the work. They were some of the first and during 2002-2005 some of the biggest drawing "indie" bands out there.

Off! is even more of a reason to go! they are great live!

My first was Tesla with Firehouse as the opener on June 12, 1992, with my dad and a friend. I was not an early adopter. My mom wouldn't let me go with a friend to see Nirvana on December 5, 1993, as it was a Tuesday school night and, as she said, "you will be able to see them another time."

There has been a surge in full-length Nirvana shows in the past few years being uploaded to youtube. A lot of them have surprisingly good sound. For my money, the shows from 89 and 90 are the best. They band is tight, energetic, not yet famous, and the setlists are pretty much the first half of Incesitcide, 3-4 Bleach

Everything about Stig and Homer's interaction at Guitar Center was awesome.

As a bassist, I loved all of the bassist bashing.

1. Boys and Girls
2. Stay Positive
3. Separation Sunday
4. Almost Killed Me
5. Teeth Dreams
6. Heaven is Whenever

I prefer the Crooked Fingers version.

The movie version was one of the most tedious movies I have ever forced myself to finish. I think I watched over six days or something because I couldn't watch it for more than 20 minutes at a time. Forcing myself to finish that moving was the most masochistic thing I have ever done…

I agree with this for the most part, although Fight Songs and Satellite Rides have grown on me over the years. I have lived in either Dallas, St. Louis or Columbia, MO for my entire life, so there has never really been a time where I've gone more than year without seeing them live over the past 20 years, and in the
