I really liked the Last Jedi, and thought Luke’s evolution made perfect logical sense. He’d moved past the teachings of the Jedi and fully embraced the Force on unfiltered terms.

I like how the most jaded Star Wars fans consider these new movies untoward cash grabs from Disney, while the Moron Army on YouTube literally makes money by repeating insane anti-analysis about how Last Jedi is an experimental anti-film and how a movie they haven’t seen (and almost no one has actually seen) is going

Why not?

I’m going to see my mom in Canada at Christmas. I fully intend to take advantage of their legalized cannabis and then go see see Cats.

“It’s weird to think he just wears that one outfit”

It’s weird that you think he just wears that one outfit despite him wearing several different outfits between Solo, Empire and Jedi.

Also kind of weird to assume that since he’s worn that outfit twice over the course of about 40 years, he must ONLY wear that outfit.

Excuse me. Empire Strikes Back then. So sorry if I caused you any pretend confusion.

If this list was around in the 80's, Star Wars wouldn’t be on it.

Citizen Kane is a really entertaining, fast paced, fun movie.

I’m very pleasantly surprised to see The Social Network in the top 5. I might disagree with the whole undermining democracy narrative, but I think what aged best about the film is its insight on how we connect in the social network age. I am a little confused by the sideswipe at Sorkin, however.

Agree 100%. Was just expecting to have to sit through another kid’s movie with the first, and instead got to view a genuine work of art. I went into the second one expecting it to be good.

Just speaking for myself, it’s not even really about emotions. Paddington 2 is just insanely inventive in its construction, with comedy set-pieces that genuinely earn comparison to Keaton and Tati. Plus, the screenplay is endlessly witty, something compounded by the performances of an incredible cast.

As someone who does love both Paddington films, I find them to be deeply imaginative, hilarious, and emotionally resonant. Also, I’m about 95% sure that Ari Aster stole the opening shot of Hereditary from the first Paddington.

Even without the sci-fi macguffin, it’s still one of the best heist movies ever made.

I still love it!

I was shocked that No Country for Old Men wasn’t on the list, then I was even more shocked when I realized it was from 2007.

I’m a big Simon and Garfunkel fan and no way should be they be on a rock music list.

Well, then what’s crazy to me is that in The Phantom Menace, the Jedi Council keeps talking about Anaikin being the “chosen one who brings balance to the force” and saying this like it meant the “light side” or the “good guys” were going to “win”. Which just makes me certain that the Jedi were idiots. Did Lucas really
