They usually go check them out on stage first.

Good lord. Didn't Hallmark have a Melissa Gilbert tv movie you could have been watching instead of this offensive show?
Holy fuck, first people are complaining about Uganda, and now it's that they didn't get Angela Merkel right? How freaking big is the microscope people are watching the show with these days?
I like that sketch. I find Aidy really funny when she's allowed to get really upset and outraged in a sketch. She's sort of Will Ferrell-like in that way.
Holy fuck, way to over-think a five-minute sketch.
it was super solid. I always tend to find the first show in a two or three week cycle is really strong, with diminishing returns the next one or two shows. Which is odd, because I think during the seventies the consensus was that it worked the opposite way.
Yeah. That.
I think this may not be a show for you.
Of course it made it right! It's sketch comedy!
Well, part of it is also that Keen and Jay Pharoah are senior cast members now, so you are going to naturally see more of them.
Wait a minute. I'm starting to think that you're being offended mostly because you just want to talk about your trip to Uganda that no one cares about.
Holy Christ. I guess Bolivians, Eastern Europeans and Greenlandians should be offended too? Maybe this isn't a show you should be watching if you're that sensitive.
Wait, are you annoyed because Washington only played black women? Should she have played Miss Greenland in that beauty pageant sketch?
The exact opposite of Kerry Washington, who I noticed mouthing "That was so much fun!" during the goodnights.
I'd like it if she'd drop that Scandal show and just become an regular cast member. She was great, and fit right in.
Really? Even if you only look at the performers that have been on the show in the last ten years (Jason Sudeikis, Andy Samberg, Bill Hader, Fred Armisen Kristin Wiig, Amy Poehler, etc) you'd pretty much be looking at the cutting edge of contemporary mainstream comedy. I'm sure there a bunch of people on a bunch of…
Are you saying SNL was better 20 years ago? You know, that era is generally considered one of the show's nadirs, right?
Good Neighbor (where Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney are from) had/have a bunch of popular youtube videos.
I think people would have said the same thing ten years ago when Bill Hader, Jason Sudeikis and Andy Samberg all started at the same time. I think it's way too early to tell who's going to last, but if I was a betting man, I'd say Kyle Mooney, Beck Bennett and Mike O'Brien have the best shot of still being around next…
It's everyone's fault on that show what roles they're given. You can be the funniest person in the world, but if you can't generate material that gets on the air (or cozy up to writers that can), you're going to flounder. SNL is a very particular environment, and being right for it doesn't just mean being funny or…
