The truth is you never see “reality” in Legion. Beginning to end it’s about how David sees the world, which may or may not be accurate. This is why 70's design is mixed with modern world. David’s view IS distorted the entire time.

It absolutely is a good show. If you compare it to any of the DC/CW shows, it’s night and day between “cheap thrown together plot with characters doing actively stupid things” and “a real story that unwinds over a season with fantastic pacing and characters”.

Thoroughly enjoyed Legion, I watched it week by week. Pretty much every member of the cast (but especially Aubrey Plaza) was very well-cast. I also liked that it wasn’t a straight-up adaptation of the comics, most of the references were small and far enough between as to be more like bonuses.

That’s one of the things I really liked about it actually: It starts off pretty inscrutable and pulls itself together really nicely by the end.

One of my favourite things about Legion is that it... Doesn’t talk down to its audience, I guess? It doesn’t feel the need to spell out everything super explicitly, it assumes viewers will keep watching despite hallucinatory interludes and unreliable narrators, not just as asides but as cornerstones of the plot and…

Plaza just fucking killed it in this show.

Absolutely yes. It genuinely is the best one. At the very least it is the most faithful to the spirit of its source, unlike this which had to dumb down the philosophical leanings of GitS to a freaking ripoff of Robocop or The Bourne Identity just so audiences to follow it(and even then some people were still confused…

Er.....no the best anime to live action Hollywood has done is Speed Racer.

I love the art. And the movie certainly looked fantastic, and the practical effects (non-CG) were amazing.

I am so, so sick of this shit. I don’t care that it looks stunning - all it takes in Hollywood is to shove enough money at an art department and 99% of the time the movie is going…

If the only news of a “new” GitS was just a compilation book of concept art and nothing else, I would have been completely happy.
