Yea this is just a shit take.  Sorry man.

I second the Altimax as a great budget option, I’ve used them on several cars now.

Hakkas are nice, but pricey. The Altimax Arctics are a great budget option. I'm also a fan of the winterforce for real mucky surfaces.

Any decent winter tire would be fine, honestly. Hankook i-Pike or Nokian Hakkapeliittas, even the less expensive General Altimax Arctic. Studded would be better for frequent icy conditions, but not required if you drive sensibly. Toss a set of traction devices (eg, tire chains, piece of metal grating, Maxx Trax or

I always use the parking brake in the snow!

You wouldn’t have hit that tree if you had correct tire pressure.

My 2002 is still going strong with 180,000 miles. The myth of weak gearboxes drives me crazy.

Neither is the engine compartment...not a bad little car, I’d probably be in @ $5k after a PPI, but $15k? That’s just idiotic.

I had one of these:

Hell hath no fury like a used WRX (or german car out of warranty)

Nope! A big NOPE at this price.

With gold wheels!

Filthy engine bay, suspiciously replaced gearbox, and a big ol’ subwoofer in the back? Poorly maintained bro mobile. Crack pipe.

That color is rare. I’ve never seen a red WRX before.  I was almost going to click NP, but the lack of odometer reading, and that story about the military, too suspicious.   That’s too bad.  The car looks clean otherwise.

Exactly!  The air show is a planned event X number of feet away from spectators and SAFETY is a priority with all manouvers plotted and practiced beforehand.

Or plow into the audience, or better yet collide with someone just trying to land their plane to top off the gas!

This is in the middle of a residential area, and directly next to the on-ramp for a major expressway. I live not far from here and people are fed the fuck up, not least with the cops who don’t so shit when people burn out of the lot and hit the ramp at 100 MPH. The intersection in that photo is an 8-lane surface

right and to your point do you see planes firing missiles and strafing the audience? i bet you don’t....carry on.

“Thank you - you dont go to an air show just to see parked planes -”

Worst possible analogy. Airshows are nothing like car shows. Planes in airshows don’t just take off into uncontrolled airspace full of other aircraft they can run into. In fact, they are highly planned, controlled, and choreographed. Heck, even EAA AirVenture is chaos, but controlled chaos.
