This is probably a topic for a different article, but I just got a Chromebook and I'm curious about the best text editors for Chrome (with an eye towards JS/HTML/CSS).

Coda and Espresso are both good and have their own advantages, however despite owning both I still find myself using Sublime the most.

Apple and Microsoft have done it quite a bit too. An added bonus is that you no longer have to potentially compete with the company you just bought.

I rolled my eyes at the description, but once I watched the video I was intrigued. It seems like one of those solutions that actually should have been part of the OS, but no one realized it. Checking it out.

From Justified:

Reminds me of a quote from an early CSI.

Aw, no Moto X yet.

That's a New Year's resolution for me — not an absolute ban on Humble Bundle and Steam sales, but forcing myself to really look and think about whether I'll play the game, and if I really need to buy it right now.

Nice. Never knew that.

Excellent. I was gravitating towards Roku as my main home theater streaming solution when I was lured away by the shiny promise of Chromecast. But as much as I like what the Chromecast can do, it's going back in the drawer until it can do more.

I think iTunes entered its "Fat Elvis" phase when it started to incorporate video. As a music manager it was fine. Apple probably should have evolved QuickTime Player into a video store/manager app instead.

I would not be surprised to see that suddenly appear one day. (In beta, of course.)

I like it a lot, but I switched to Android late last year and I didn't see anything today that would cause me to consider switching back. While the new design does go deeper than just a new coat of paint, it doesn't go that much deeper.

Makes me think of this.

Can this recovery flash drive be used to install Windows 8 into Boot Camp or Parallels on a Mac?

I was on the verge of pulling the trigger on the components for a do-it-yourself HTPC, but this may be the smarter option for me. Roku has a Plex app that I could use for my ripped Blu-Rays 'n' such.

I've watched enough sci-fi B-movies that whenever I see the robot near the person I can't help but think, "Any second now...It's gonna jump on him...any second..."

I think (or perhaps hope) that the trend will evolve into more Abandoned Earth stories like After Earth and Oblivion, and that leads us to more stories about space travel (something that scif-fi has been sorely lacking in recent years).

You just wanted and excuse to use that GIF again.

I was waiting for that as well.
