Rogue One seemed aimed people who will only admit to loving Empire Strikes Back in public (and maybe New Hope, but only the one where Han shoots first. Everything else is just dogshit). TFA was for fans of Star Wars as a whole (arguably to a fault, but I understand wanting a palette cleanser after the prequels).

Does the name "Ruth's Chris Steakhouse" bug anyone else? Shouldn't it be "Ruth's Chris' Steakhouse"?

Yeah, not disagreeing, as I kinda think it is different timelines as well after seeing some more evidence. It's just weird Clementine would be on the street/sleeping w clients if she was the madame.

"2. Clementine was Madame to William, NOT MAEVE"

The robot doesnt "have" MRSA per se, its just present inside the body. I mean, it can live on a countertop, and the host offers a warm, wet environment. We've seen the hosts eat and drink, so there's some fuel for the bacteria to replicate further.

Not just budgets, but marketing too. With a combined budget+marketing of over 300 million Ghostbusters needed like 500+ to not be considered a flop. How often to comedies clear that? Reign your shit in studios.

Not only that, but a massive idiot to somehow think they would title the movie after the series creator AND NOT THE SERIES.

"But when she advised Naz on the plea, it was coming from a place of knowledge and confidence."

Given that it was late at night (after 10 I think), its unlikely he was driving it to or from a funeral, unless they were burying a vampire or something. I think he was just gassing it up.

I still cannot fathom why that was cut from the movie. Rowan/Kevin making the crowd point didnt really make a lot of sense without that to add context. Plus it looked a ton of fun.

The ending was complete dogshit, it felt like some bizarro world studio mandated "grimdark edgy for its own sake" twist. Maybe Zach Snyder somehow had creative control, and was "I like the story, but can we make Ms. Carmody right all along?"

"But the idea that all spontaneous heat of the moment crime would be eliminated by one day of planned mayhem is so patently ridiculous that I could never force myself to watch any of these movies. "

"Basically, your best chance of survival in Central City is to avoid those five locations."

Give him his fucking enchiladas!

"But it remains unclear what FTWD hopes to achieve with this walker/addict comparison."

She was the only one I wasnt rooting for to be instant zombie chow.

Winston and the random weirdness like the redneck dude bringing an unexplained tiny cage/box as his weapon to the gun fight are some of the just entirely random weirdness that made the original stand out.

Eh, I liked most of the New French Extremity films, but fucking loathed Martyrs. It just feels so pretentious and up its own ass, like Funny Games.

Sort of, but it feels needlessly tacked on and the result of some studio meddling/test screening crap. High Tension is pretty good otherwise.

Gussied up torture porn is still torture porn. Despite a strong start, Martyrs is some boring shit in the back half, just a woman without any agency being abused before the inevitable. There's no tension after her failed escape attempt, its just running out the clock waiting for her to die while being clubbed over the
