Mike “Who’s next?” Harrigan has entered the chat.

Good point; it’s laying out several paths and then going down none of them.

Nothing *really* against any of these — none of them are lower than a “B” in my estimation (well, maybe some of the fanatical response to The Mandalorian might shade my response into B- territory, but I respect that, as with classic TV, there are cool episodes and kinda-lame episodes).

But as much as I like what Rogue

I’ve seen other versions which work pretty well. Combined with Clone Wars you get a halfway decent origin story for Vader. But so much of it is retcons.

The best argument I’ve seen for TPM is that Qui-Gon would have saved Anakin’s soul.

You forgot The Christmas Special I don't care how bad the last movie is nothing can top that for the worst Star Wars ever.

I’d argue the Throne Room fight in The Last Jedi is a standout set piece from the Sequel Trilogy.

I’ve always made it head canon that Yoda knew she had them and didn’t really think it was a big deal because he essentially called them old junk. Him saying “young Rey doesn’t have anything she doesn’t already possess” could be read a different way. Also, whatever. That Yoda scene was still great.

But the “Vader is Luke’s dad” and “Anakin as Christ child” makes them very much NOT “just a farm boy/slave kid.”

I think it would’ve been pretty awesome to have Anakin’s fall be the climax of episode 2 (the prequel’s “I am your father” type shocker), so that we would’ve had two full episodes developing Anakin and an entire Episode 3 depicting the fallout.

Wow moments in the sequels:

Part of what made Starling an interesting character is that she’s a fairly ordinary person who just happened to find herself in extraordinary circumstances.

Matt Lanter is the best Anakin.

There was the lightsaber battle where Kylo and Rei mop up the floor with all of Snokes’ guards; there was Luke Force Projection keeping Kylo and the Entire Fucking First Order occupied while the remnants of the New Republic made their escape (and Mark Hamill’s offhanded contempt for all of it was perfect); Holdo’s

During the attack on the ferry, when the son leaps up onto the ramp to pull people aboard, the pride that slowly spreads across Tom Cruise’s face is among the best acting he’s ever done.

Regardless of how you feel about it breaking the universe or not, Holdo’s Sacrifice is absolutely the most memorable visual in any Star Wars movie, and if it’s not quite the WOW factor of “I am your father,” for an entire generation of people born too late for that to be the defining moment in cinema for them, I’d

Yeah, as bloated as Jackson’s King Kong is, I liked it a lot when I saw it in the theater. It also might be one of the last let’s-redo/sequelize-this-IP movies that still feels like a filmmaker’s specific vision rather than something content to trade on nostalgia for the original version of it.

There has been this sort of... life through rose tinted glasses look at the Prequels lately. Partially because of nostalgia. Partially because the new movies were somewhat disappointing. Likely because of all those damn memes. I’m sorry, no amount of time has made these movies any better. Revenge of the Sith has a few

Believe me even when you have two kids you are better off with a minivan. you eventually drive grandparents around with you and the minivan is the only option where they can actually get in the back seats. When you take that road trip to the beach or travel for christmas and thanksgiving you need all that cargo space.

Minivans are way more capable than crossovers and when you are at that stage in your life you will be thankful you have one. Minivan ownership is like the guy who is balding and decides to just shave his head because he has accepted his lot in life and doesnt care what others think. Crossovers owners are like the dude
