$12k is a number you see on paper only, in a hypothetical situation. First of all, regular 3-series cars get discounted a lot more often than M cars do. Second, surprisingly...you get more standard options on a 340i than you do on an M3. So when you start adding some of those options to an M3, the price just goes

Can you? Yes. Should you? No. I know you want to do this for practical reasons but more importantly (to you), you want to be that guy that looks super rad towing his drift car to the track with his slammed and stanced baja, because it would look cool. You want all those scene kiddies to pull out their phones and

Thanks for the info on that. That is interesting stuff and I’m curious to see how these cars hold up. I do wish the AWD implementation was a bit more substantial or “beefy”, but I suppose if these cars end up holding up to the abuse of all the modders/track rats/etc, then my concerns are unwarranted.

Any concerns about RDU failure? I have read that the RDU’s torque limits aren’t far off from stock power levels. You’re making massive torque now. Or does Montune reprogram the TPU to not send more than X% to the RDU?

The hockey stick on the side looks so out of place. Just like it does on the new 7. Who’s terrible idea was that?

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Yours just happens to be wrong.

The problem is the Camaro is better at every performance metric vs the Mustang. If the Camaro wasn’t so damn ugly, nobody would buy a Mustang.

If the i8 driver just hit the fucking gas pedal, he could have squeezed in without causing an issue.

I still say he should have been ticketed for doing open-diff failures of donuts, not for the act itself.

I thought the narration was hilarious. And while I don’t agree with “rolling coal” for the sake of doing it, the swaps are cool and totally yeehaw USA.

335/30/18. According to tire rack, there are some streetable options.

Open-diff fail status donuts. That’s what he should be railed over.

I actually chose the DCT for my e90 M3 because it was better suited to the motor (IMO) and I wasn’t a huge fan of that 6 speed. That said, my current 340i is good ol row-yer-own. :) —and admittedly, I missed the full connection that a manual gives you while I owned the DCT.

Manual nut-hugger here admits this is probably a good thing. That motor, like the e90 m3 motor, revs super quickly and requires high rpm operation to be satisfying. Add that to the ridiculous power output and fantastic chassis, and you have a vehicle that demands attention and precision to drive quickly. DCTs allow

I’m not a stanced car guy, though I have nothing against people making these type of modifications because they too, are car guys. They aren’t into the same type of car events and activities as I am, but they feel the same passion about cars that I do.

Same. One of my coworkers has owned multiple AMGs and she always says that they’re too scary when she hits the gas pedal hard and complains that they wear tires too quickly. She downgraded to one of those GLA45 AMGs a few years back and got rid of it because it was “too loud” and “too uncomfortable”.

It still runs 1/4 mile times slower than BMWs current 3 and 440i offerings. Oh and they get a fantastic 6 speed manual and the superior (to this 7 speed), 8 speed ZF auto.

They have never made a production v6

Dear David Ruddock,

Yes, we understand how well this car stacks up on paper. Also, FWIW, it’s not just the RDU that’s having overheating issues, the engine oil is overheating after only a few laps at the track as well.
