I think the ending speeches are interesting. In some ways they elevate an otherwise-meh episode. And when they don't need to be elevated, they act as a coda, kind of like the replay of Verbal Kint's speech in "the usual suspects."

I thought this was brilliant as well, but I am really. getting. sick. of SM's need to have the Doctor insult Clara on her looks. Really. Sick.
