I've a similar experience with my 986 after 3 1/2 years. 40k hard miles in that time and the only part that's possibly gone prematurely bad was the air/oil separator.
Also, to quote you (emphasis mine): "Go look at photos of the interior and the cost cutting will be very evident."
I've owned a 986 for about 3 1/2 years. It feels find to me. Cheaper? Could be. Cheap? No.

Sorry, but these three paragraphs are bullshit.
"Pulchritudinous" is not a pulchritudinous word.

Exception- modern Porsche flat-6s will occasionally burn off oil on start up. This results in anywhere from a small to large puff of blue smoke on startup that should almost imediately stop. So long as it's sporadic and doesn't last, it's perfectly fine.
This is why I hate the collector car culture.
Kinda surprised by the Nice Price roll here. My dad is about to sell an '04 Aero (the top trim) with 3 pedals and 6 gears and isn't expecting to get $5k based on asking prices around here for similar cars.
What would be wrong with telling him he should have waited for the price to drop? Surely they are not going to to demand that much money for their entire production run.
I do think many of the new BMWs are good looking cars and I can see how Bangle's designs influenced the way they look now. But you must be way too far into a good alcohol binge if that pre-refresh E65 looks good to you.
That is quite a lot of car for the money. I wonder how much basic maintenance you could do yourself on those.
Why am I dissatisfied with my 350Z and wanting something new already?!
Yeah, the big time stock cars sound pretty good. The noise they make is pretty different from that of the C7.R though.
The best sounding racecar I've ever heard in person is the Aston Martin V12 powered Lola B09/60.
I've been to Petit Le Mans the past 4 or 5 years and spent a lot of time watching from everywhere the general public can. I know what the car sounds like.
I guess I'm deaf from actually going to races and hearing these things in person rather than just watching them on YouTube. I'll take it.
