Just for the sake of completeness here is the fathers side of the story.
As I said, it doesn't come off as being an asshole so good on you. In general I assume the worst of everyone until proven otherwise. I guess I'm just a pessimist.
I think we've both just had bad experiences on opposite sides of this fence. Your description of your requests sounds reasonable as you include a 'hey I'm allergic to RAW X, but cooked X isn't a problem.' So you don't sound like you are an asshole.
I didn't try to change my point. I acknowledged that you were correct someone may not be allergic to ketchup when they are allergic to tomato. Indeed the more you know. I gave other examples of how I've seen people use allergies when they were being assholes about it.
I haven't worked in food service for over 20 years.
I gave the one example I did because it was one that stood out. I can acknowledge that it is possible they are not an asshole, while still thinking that in general people who use allergies as the reason for a change in menu and then immediately eat something else containing said allergen are doing so because they're…
It's possible yes, but I do not think it's so common that I'd run into it as often as I did in food service. Usually it's people who want one of two things, a guarantee that they have a new item cooked, rather than someone taking the item off a pre-made item. Or they want to make sure that the item is prepared to…
Is that broccoli tempura? Oh My Gods... Must have.
Yes yes it would. I now demand that every presidential candidate choose an intro song. And we'll have Michael Buffer announce them at every debate.
That's mass compression totally different ^_~
I've followed the link trail back reading the articles about this. So far I don't see anywhere that it says he didn't help out with expenses or anything else. You are assuming that he just flipped the bird and walked away (or some metaphysical equivalent) and didn't have anything to do with paying. It isn't covered…
I was raised Christian (Lutheran to be specific), my wife is Christian (nondenominational). I did a lot of study (more than I find in most practicing Christians) and decided to change religions, not that religion was inherently flawed as some seem to think. I decided that based not on Christianity but based on the…
I see gender 'scales' for identity presentation etc. personally every time I look at them I just tip my head and have to think from personal experience that I'm somewhat fluid in every aspect. Some days I present more male or female, some days I feel more masculine or feminine, some days girls are more enticing some…
