Wizards of the Coast did not use Pros to shape the Pro Tour in any official capacity until they recently established a group of “Pro Player Advisors” this August.

The Pro Community has always been loud and active, however, and any changes to the Pro Tour by WotC were usually in response to public pressure like this

It’s a little funny, be he might have done more good by being upfront and public with his no-girls-allowed stance than if he just dodged the question or never addressed it.

Sealed tournaments would be trivially easy, but requiring opaque sleeves for constructed events is one of the reasons why Magic chose to keep its original card-back instead of changing over to the pink card-back they thought of implementing with Arabian Knights.

It’s seen as a kind of organized play foux pas to

Now, I’m actually a little confused, popularly speaking “Live Service” tend to be games that have continual updates in content with the intent of making sure that players keep playing forever, like Fortnite or Hitman (2016), or Hearthstone, or DOTA2.

Supposedly each deck will have a unique card back, so you wouldn’t be able to mix decks without marking your cards in a way that basically amounts to cheating.

Fun stuff, there should be a Free 5E compatable Dominaria PDF released sometime this or next month. and you can find some official free PDF for some of their other Planes here

It’s awesome! I’m super excited for a Full hardcover since their free PDF content for Zendikar, Kaladesh, Ixilan, and Ahmonket were pretty neat stuff. I’m also stoked for the free Dominaria PDF that should come out this month.

On small correction though, the final paragraph mentions that Wizards of the Coast only

Does this apply to individual card sales you get in the mail off sites like Star City Games? I’m not sure how terrifs work here.

That’s still casual. Moreover you’re not rare or special. Most people who play PvP games usually do so on their own terms. Some will follow the meta, most will just jam what they want and do their best to win.

“Yes”

Another option that Blizzard uses in some markets like China is to sell in game gold/currency and then bundle it with “free” or “bonus” lootboxes as a part of a sales promotion.

While I can understand investor’s being upset that KnC didn’t perform as expected (I can’t say either way, since I don’t have the numbers), to assume that they’re upset about Witchwood even though it’s been out for less than two weeks seems suspect. I’m more willing to take Ben Brode at his word and assume that he

The subbreddits for Battlefront 2 and Need For Speed have swapped themes as a nod to NFS’s community manager taking over Battlefront 2.

So fun fact, while I was working as a Netflix CSR this was the one feature people complained about the most, but Netflix decided to expand it to more and more devices over the time I worked there.

The reasoning for it was mostly data driven. These trailers basically help people find something to watch faster, and more

All heroes from Season 1 and the base game will be automatically unlocked once the Progression update launches, when new heroes are released, they’ll be bought for credits.

You missed my favorite feature! The ability to create folders on your home screen to organize your games!

I mean, you are posting to Compete, a Kinja site dedicated to Esports, one of the bigger ones being Overwatch.

In addition to Bright Engrams and Ghost Shells, the community feels that the Eververse and loot boxes are warping the game’s overall design and walking back things people enjoyed from Destiny 1.

The primary example is shaders. Shaders used to be infinite use, and you had a special kiosk you could go to that would keep

The only weapons that lose durability when it has an effect trigger are Atiesh and Sword of Justice and those are spelled out on the cards. Light’s Shadow, the only other weapon with a triggered effect that has nothing to do with attacking, doesn’t lose durability, so not only is there precedent for weapons to not use

I feel like some of the feelings of the article are at odds with each other. I understand the sense that it’s borderline criminal for parts of the game to be walled off by difficulty because it’s unfair that some people’s work won’t get the same attention as others, especially late in the game.
