No Monogamy For You, Player: The protagonist has opportunities to strengthen his bonds with seven key heroines throughout the game. Not only does this help you create stronger Star Children, but the girls become more formidable as well, making them reliable partners in battle... and other places.
I find this mechanic/narrative intersection unsettling, if only because getting dragged out into the street, stripped, and exposed for mock and ridicule (on top of other violent abuses) has historically been a tool used by those in power to terrorize and oppress.
Have you seen shiny most-everything-else?
This is so cool!
Man, this is exciting. If this comes to the states, I'd be more than happy to finally get my hands on some PSP games I missed out on cuz I couldn't afford the handheld (and can't afford a Vita).
I'm having a lot of fun with Gundam Build Fighters. It's a show that takes the core premise of G Gundam ("Monster of the Week battles where everything is a Mobile Suit"), but boils away the stodgy seriousness and focuses more on having light-hearted fun.
This lights the ever smallest hope in my heart for Ghiren's Greed.
I love how WoW has now become a Siddhartha esque life spiral.
Huh, I guess even this can get recouperated. At first, they were interesting encouragements to continue playing the game, some better designed than others, but ultimately innocent.
Oh man, I'm such a sucker for 4X strategy games. The deeper and richer the features the better. Between this and Gal Civ III I'm going to die from lack of sleep.
There's a good chance that Kotaku made a good faith effort to contact this person, but never got a response in time for the article. They'd rather not hurt someone by exposing their PSN account and then having them get spammed online by strangers harassing him.
I don't know what that means. Can you please elaborate?
I use a similar strategy when thinking about how much I'd be willing to pay for a game. (I usually break it down to $5 for every 4-hours playtime.)
Being able to fall on a Grenade is a feature I never knew I wanted.
Every time stories about unknown foreign language stuff suddenly recieving a lot of screen time happens I'm reminded that Ghiren's Greed is never getting an english translation, and then I feel bad.
I find this super amusing, and also intriguing.
These are some of my favorite series on Kotaku. I really apreciate the work you put into this.
