My favorite MMO was City of Heroes/Villains.
There was a lot going for it game-play wise, but the populace was also generally into acting silly and having fun. The emphasis on costumes as part of character development helped a lot for that.
The kind of MMO I would want would have more nuanced options for interactivity…
