Progressives hate democracy just as much as fringe conservatives. Mostly because their toxic words and behavior prevent progressives from ever building a majority coalition. Progressives would love a system in which the few rule the many without consent, because they imagine themselves as The Few.

This system is pure hell for many, many people, and has been for a very long time. If what finally pushes you to take to the streets is a defense of that crumbling, unfair system—which couldn’t muster enough willpower to stop a goblin like Trump from becoming president—then your priorities leave a lot to be desired.

It is ever-so-fucking easy to show your ass and make fun of stable democratic government when that’s all you’ve ever known for your entire life, isn’t it?
