The European performance version(s) of these cars (Opel Kadett GT/E and Vauxhall Chevette HSR) are pretty good and there are a lot of rally spec performance parts (again from Europe) which can make these formidable little cars. However, a muscle car it will never be and styling it as such is all the more mistake. ND
