Same - I’m not a Clinton fan, but I’m not sure anyone is worse than Trump. I wasn’t even going to bother voting, but you’re right, we should really use this as an opportunity to learn about the hard truth of voting. Don’t use your vote to make a stand, because if you do and we end up like Britain.....ugh.

Because I want Clinton to win and am voting for her?

Trump is not a short-term sacrifice. Trump is an extinction-level event.

I totally agree, but a ton of people in this thread don’t seem to. Though it’s easy to talk on Kinja about how you’re voting for a third party because Clinton is so awful. It’s different when you’re actually in the voting booth, especially if the polls tighten before November.

Honestly, it won’t. I still don’t understand how anyone could miss an opportunity to cancel out a nazi’s vote though. Every vote for Clinton, like her or not, nullifies some backwoods klan sympathizers vote, and I can’t wait to flex that muscle.

It’s like these idiots don’t realize what Clinton will do to SCOTUS and how that will positively affect their supposed values. I suspect none of them have a problem with Clinton appointees like Breyer and RBG.

That makes sense to me. I voted for Stein in ‘12, partly because I live in Massachusetts and Obama was clearly going to win there, and partly because a Romney victory wouldn’t have resulted in the end of the world.

I’ve talked to more than a few sane conservatives like you. I think people will be surprised at the amount of GOP women who are going to quielty vote for Clinton.

No it wouldn’t—it wouldn’t change. Jill Stein is woefully unprepared and unqualified to be president. Sorry to burst your bubble. Go read the AMA she did on Reddit.

I voted for Jill Stein when I lived in Delaware since my home state is reliably Blue. Now I live in Virginia, a swing state, so I’ll be voting for Hillary even though I don’t like her. The down ballot races are important and us Bernie supporters should vote for progressives to send to DC and for local offices.

As a republican who is a Never Trump, I was thinking about voting for Johnson but not any more. Hilary has my vote on lock now.

I voted for Stein in the previous election, partly because I live in Massachusetts and there was no way Obama would lose there. But the short-term implications of allowing Trump to become President are completely unacceptable. The long-term implications are also likely to be severely negative. I agree that we need to

Any person foolish enough to throw away their vote in such a way and be potentially complicit in the election of a crypto-fascist was never a real progressive. Just an angry and stubborn person looking for easy solutions to difficult questions. I’ve been a Bernie supporter since he announced, but you can bet your ass

I like Stein and if my voting for her had any realistic chance of helping her become president, I would. But it doesn’t. She’s going to lose. The only two people who have a shot are Clinton and Trump, and I’m going to vote for the one who isn’t insane, even if she’s not my top pick.

Symbolic protest votes in the US is how we might potentially end up with commander in chief Trump.

So let me get this straight, the UK is about to leave the EU, the PM is about to resign, and the world economy is about to go on a tailspin... all because more than half the UK thought this was make believe? How do you think your vote doesnt count? Isn’t that the point of a democratic system? That your vote counts?
