I’m thinking the proper aggregate substitution is going to be coal ash. Its surface area is very similar to volcanic ash, and boy would it finally solve the problem of tailings ponds.

I think (and this is my opinion) people were expecting some truly heady sci fi from Prometheus, a movie was was an excellent sci fi horror film. The characters act no smarter or more stupid in Prometheus than any other scary movie.
